Burning More Fuel to Meet the Same Needs

If your fuel consumption begins to increase, this could mean your traps are not working correctly. The fuel usage in your system should remain relatively consistent. If the volume of fuel being used is increasing, it’s time to take a look at your thermal utilities and steam traps!

Water Hammer

Water hammer can be detrimental to the health of your system. Repeated water hammer can cause damage to your pumps, valves, instruments, and joints. You can also experience leaks and ruptured pipes when water hammer begins. When you hear the clanging sounds of water hammer in your system, you should call one of our experts immediately to perform a trap survey.

Traps Blowing Steam

A properly functioning steam trap automatically opens and closes without losing steam. If you see that your trap is allowing steam to escape, this is a sure sign that your trap is not functioning properly. Steam blowing can also create safety issues in your facility due to the temperature of the steam. Escaped steam is a liability and waste of resources to your facility. When your trap starts to blow steam, call one of our experts to perform a trap survey on your system.
